GIRL - Girl's International Right to Learn

Goals of the Committee: To connect with women and women's groups overseas and to provide aid (monetary or other) To learn about and raise awareness on campus about various international women's issues (CEDAW Treaty, Trafficking, etc.) Projects: Invisible Children is an organization that uses the power of media to inspire young people to help end the war in Uganda and to help the children that have suffered in the war as night commuters, child mothers, displaced persons or orphans to go forward with their own futures. IWOC has screened the Invisible Children documentary and is having an Invisible Children event will take place on November 2, 2010 from 7pm to 9 pm at the Adam's Auditorium in Franklin and Marshall College. We are also planning on participating in the Schools for Schools program that starts in January. More information at We are also working with the American Assistance for Cambodia (AAfC) an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving opportunities for the youth and rural poor in Cambodia. AAfC operates programs across Cambodia in the areas of education, health, rural development, and technology. We are raising money to build an F&M sister school. Help us fundraise!
