The F&M Arts Club is a group of students interested at promoting arts on campus. Our members represent a variety of majors, from those who are studio art majors to those who simply want to pursue the arts outside the classroom. Our focus is on three main areas: 1) Arts in the House: This event began in 2009 as an alternative to the party scene at F&M. It features live student musicians, spoke word or poetry artists, and performers. We provide free hot chocolate, and art supplies for students to use while enjoying talents of their peers. This is a very popular event, and has taken place in the Arts House in years past, with co-sponsorship from WFNM for sound equipment. 2) Exhibitions: We are responsible for curating, and planning the Annual Juried Student Art Show, which invites students across campus to submit their work to be juried. We work with the Phillips Museum Staff and Arts Faculty to hire a juror, and encourage students to submit their work.
