Guidelines for the Documentation of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity (ADHD) Disorder
In order to determine appropriate academic accommodations for a student with an attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Franklin & Marshall College has adopted guidelines developed by Educational Testing Service (ETS) as the standard for a psycho-educational evaluation. A copy of the ETS guidelines is available at Counseling Services and these guidelines are available at the Education Testing Service web site at:
http://www.ets.org/Media/Resources_For/Test_Takers_with_Disabilities/pdf/documenting_adhd.pdf
A student may be asked to meet with Disability Services to clarify information contained in the psycho-educational evaluation.
A student's evaluation must be current; that is, it must have been completed within the past three years. Exceptions may be granted in certain individual circumstances. The evaluation must contain a diagnosis of ADHD based on DSM-IV criteria and recommend specific accommodations based on the student's functional limitations.
A student must provide the appropriate written report/s containing all necessary information to Disability Services before consideration of academic accommodations can begin.
All written report/s should be sent to:
