Reliving geology field days. Lifelong learning. F&M Alumni College.
For a week in August, F&M faculty and alumni explored the geology and ecology around Red Lodge, Montana. The group stayed at the YBRA field station, located high in the hills overlooking Red Lodge. Accommodations were rustic but beautiful, the food was excellent, weather fantastic, and the scenery magnificent. Field highlights included Clark’s Fork Canyon, driving the Beartooth Highway, the Heart Mountain fault, rafting on the Clark’s Fork Yellowstone River near Cody, Wyoming, pig races at the Bear Creek Saloon, Phil’s cowboy poetry, and Marv’s geologic insights. The Alumni College at Red Lodge is run every other year. Put it on your calender for summer ’06!
