Registration Tips for Faculty

Tip 1

The Advising period will remain the same—students will still need to meet with their advisers and get an advising code.  They’ve been advised to make an appointment to meet with their advisers to discuss their academic plans and course choices as soon as possible.

Tip 2

Course registration will be in REAL TIME; students will know immediately if they have a seat in a course or not. Additionally, your course rosters will be available continuously through the registration period and reflect up-to-the minute enrollement information.

Tip 3

Courses are identified in the system with a 5-digit CRN (Course Reference Number), rather than course ID (such as MAT109).

Tip 4

Groups of students, beginning with rising Seniors, will have access to the registration system for a limited amount of time. Students will know when they can access the system by looking at their Registration Status link in Inside F&M.

Tip 5

Students should plan their ideal schedule during your advising meeting, and they should submit those CRNs at the same time when they register to maximize their chances of getting seats in those courses.

Tip 6

Pre-requisites for courses will be checked and students without the pre-requisites will not be able to register for the course. Faculty will be free to issue overrides for students to waive pre-requisites.

Tip 7

Tutorials, Quick Tips, and Screen shots for the registration process are available on the Registrar's website.

Tip 8

Students will be able to place themselves on waitlists for courses that have reached enrollment capacities. Students will receive an automated email notification when a seat becomes available and will have 24 hours to add it before it is made available to the next student on the waitlist.
