Below is an image of the poster the Faculty Centers Advisory put together for our Kick-Off Event on September 8. To your right, you will see other pertinent information, including information about the center's director and details about the center's physical space and staffing. If you click the link at the top of the call out to the right, it will take you to the CST's website and you can do your own research and exploration of what Macalester College has to offer in terms of faculty support. If you have more questions about the Macalester College Center for Scholarship and Teaching, be sure to ask a member of the Faculty Centers Advisory. Also, be sure to stop by Adrienne Christiansen's talk at noon on October 12 to hear her discuss the advantages and challenges of her center.
“The Center for Scholarship and Teaching has been established to encourage, promote and support the pursuit of excellence in scholarship and teaching within Macalester's distinctive urban liberal arts setting.”
Like Carleton College, Macalester Colleges' Center for Scholarship and Teaching is a faculty driven center focused almost exclusively on giving Macalester's faculty the support it needs. There is almost no programming available for students. It does differ from Carleton's Learning and Teaching Center in the amount of research support it gives to those who choose to use it.
