Entrance Counseling

The federal government requires that first-time Federal Direct Loan and Perkins loan borrowers complete an online entrance counseling session before receiving loan proceeds. These sessions help students to understand their rights and obligations as a student loan borrower.

When you click on the links below you will be taken to the starting point of the entrance session. Federal Direct and Perkins loans are both federal loan programs but have different terms so for that reason you must complete an entrance counseling session for each loan type.

Exit Counseling

When students graduate or drop below half-time enrollment (2 courses) the federal government requires schools to have Federal Direct and Perkins loan borrowers complete an online exit counseling session. These sessions help students to understand their rights and obligations of borrowing federal loans and offers repayment information.

When you click on the links below you will be taken to the  starting point of the exit session.  Federal Direct and Perkins loans are both federal loan programs but have different terms so for that reason you must complete an exit counseling session for each loan type.

Federal Direct  Loan Exit Counseling  You will SIGN IN and click on Loan Exit Counseling.  You will be taken to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).  Click on EXIT COUNSELING to begin the exit session.  To view ALL your federal loans (subsidized,unsubsidized, Perkins and Parent PLUS loans) click on FINANCIAL AID REVIEW.
