College House Administration

House Advisor (HAs): The College Houses seek House Advisors. Each HA will have a crew of first-year students during the 2011-12 academic year and will act as advisors and mentors to these first year students. Under the direction of the House Don, the House Prefect, and the Orientation Planning Directors, the House Advisors will also work with a wide array of constituencies at the College to implement a comprehensive House-based Orientation program. Each HA is expected to participate in House Advisor training, participate in weekly staff meetings and regular meetings with the Prefect, help implement the Orientation program, live in the House, generally in proximity of the seminar/crew you are assigned, interact with crew students and others throughout the academic year as advisor and mediator, and perform “other administrative tasks” at the direction of the House Don, House Prefect, and the Office of the Dean of the College (for whom the Prefects work).  Each College House may structure the HA position a little differently; for example in some houses HAs are also duty officers. Please follow up with your College House Prefect for more information.

Peer Advisor (PAs):  Bonchek College House seeks Peer Advisors. PAs work in conjunction with House Advisors, to act as advisors and mentors to first year students. Under the direction of the House Don, the House Prefect and the Orientation Planning Directors, Peer Advisors will also work with a wide array of constituencies at the College to implement a comprehensive House-based orientation program.  Responsibilities include helping the HA perform administrative tasks at the direction of the House Don, House Prefect, and the Office of College House Administration, acting as an academic mentor in a specific discipline to all members of the House, and possibly taking on the position of House Duty Officer.  Payment is by stipend, approximately $500 for the year.  Questions, please contact, Dean David Stameshkin at .
