Call Center Assistant: Student will work to provide exceptional customer service and technical support to the F&M community primarily in the Harris Center, Call Center.  Student will work under the direction of the Call Center professional staff.  A basic working knowledge of Mac OS X and some Windows is desired.  Student will be expected to attend meetings and workshops, greet customers, maintain the appearance of the Call Center, and provide phone and walk-in technical support.  Student will also be working with the Call Center ticket system to record and track requests for support.  Troubleshooting and resolving software problems on Windows and Mac systems will also be expected.  Confidentiality must be kept when dealing with data on computer and network systems.  The Call Center is the face of technical support for the campus, duties will also include redirecting visitors to the appropriate areas of ITS for further assistance. The Call Center Assistant may also be asked to perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Student may work up to 10 hours per week at $7.25/hour. Depending on how many hours other call center students add to their schedule there may be 7-15 call center worker positions to cover hours between 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday.  Hiring for Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer

Call Center Coordinator: Student must stand out as an exceptional Call Canter Assistant.  Student will work closely with the Call Center professional staff and will assist in the planning and implementation of programming and workshops for Call Center Assistants.  In addition, the Call Center Coordinator will assist in overseeing Call Center Assistants, the Call Center, assist and hold periodic meetings with CCA’s, as well as attend shifts. The Call Center Coordinator will also perform any other duties as assigned management.

 

Student may work up to 10 hours per week at $7.25/hour.  There will be positions open for 1 -2 students.  Hours will vary depending on preparations needed for meetings, training and other events held outside of Call Center hours of operations.  (Monday-Friday 8am to 5 pm)  Hiring for Fall and Spring semesters.

Network Intern:  Student will be trained for specific job duties.  Prior networking or computer experience is NOT a pre-requisite.  After training, the student will be able to maintain network documentation and network distribution locations, implement new network user connectivity, solve existing network connectivity issues, back-up network management computers, maintain virus protection on network computers, and maintain clean environments in the remote switch rooms and network lab.  The network intern may also be asked to perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Student may work up to 10 hours per week at $7.25/hour. Student must work during network office hours between 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday.  Hiring for Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer.

Solution Center Assistant: Student will work to provide exceptional customer service and technical support to the F&M community primarily in the Harris Center, Solution Center and Innovation Zone. Student will be expected to attend meetings and workshops, greet visitors, maintain the functionality and appearance of the Innovation Zone, maintain printer paper supplies, and provide phone and walk-in technical support.  Students will also be working with the Call Center ticket system to record and track requests for support during evening hours and weekends, when the offices of ITS have closed.  The Innovation Zone/Solution Center is the face of Information Technology Services, duties will also include redirecting visitors to the appropriate areas of ITS.  The Solution Center Assistant may also be asked to perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Student may work up to 10 hours per week at $7.25/hour. Depending on how many hours other solution center students add to their schedule there may be 20-30 solution center worker positions to cover hours between 8am to 12am Monday-Friday and 10am to 12am on weekends.  Hiring for Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer

Web Services Intern: Student will be involved in providing a structured training mechanism for members of the college in maintaining departmental websites.  A basic working knowledge of the following, while desired, is not required: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, mySql, and graphic editing.  Other duties include but are not limited to: web page development, technical writing (i.e. install software, connect to server), and maintaining Information Technology Servies’ website (http://www.fandm.edu/its).  Training will be provided.  Dependability and enthusiasm is a must.

 

Student may work up to 10 hours per week at $7.25/hour. Student must work during web services office hours between 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday.  Hiring for Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer.
