Archives and Special Collections Student Assistant: The Archives and Special Collections, located in Martin Library of the Sciences seeks a reliable student to assist with daily activities and special projects. Student assistants working in the Archives and Special Collections must possess computer skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task and work independently.  In addition, due to the nature of the materials held by the Archives and Special Collections, the student assistant must be willing to handle materials in such a manner as to ensure preservation and must maintain the confidentiality of certain college records. Interest in archives or library work, historical research, and caring for historical materials a plus. Knowledge of foreign languages (especially German) also a plus. The Archives and Special Collections Student Assistant will perform a variety of organizational tasks supporting user access to the collections.  These include, but are not limited to: photocopying, scanning, filing, and data entry; organizing collections; digitization; meeting the research requests of distance users; item retrieval and reshelving; web page creation and maintenance; exhibit design and implementation; assisting in collection development; and monitoring patron use of collections. Circulation Assistant: The Martin Library of the Sciences is seeking students interested in Circulation Desk duties, and other library tasks as assigned. Emphasis is placed on service to library patrons, and on attention to detail.  Requirements include: cordial interaction with others; ability to master everyday library procedures; helping with collection maintenance  by shelving library materials; helping to fill Interlibrary Loan and EZ-Borrow requests for books and articles; learning the Library of Congress book classification system; helping with equipment maintenance (filling copier and printer paper trays, undoing paper jams, etc.) Student hours are based on student availability, and are adaptable each semester.  Weekend hours are required.
