Student Sports Medicine Assistant:. This position entails assisting the 4 full time Athletic Trainers with daily operations which include, but are not limited to, taping, wrapping, first aid, practice and game set up and coverage, general restocking and cleaning of the athletic training room, etc. Due to the skills that are needed for this position, there are a few things worth noting. First, there is an approx 3 month training period in which you learn the skills needed to perform this job. Second, because this is considered a special skills position, you will have the ability to work up to 20 hours/week during the school year instead of the college's mandated 10 hours/week. The first year is geared more toward you understanding the position and getting comfortable with college. There will be plenty of hours available during your remaining 3 years. CPR certification is necessary for this position and will be provided if you do not have this already.
