Financial Aid Timeline

For Prospective Student Applicants to the College

Late Junior/Early Senior Year

Talk with your parents about financing a Franklin & Marshall College education.

Early Decision

Early Decision candidates must submit the PROFILE form online and copies of most recently filed tax returns and W-2 forms to the Office of Financial Aid. The FAFSA must be sent to the appropriate processing agency after January 1.

November 15

Admission:  Deadline for Early Decision Round 1 candidates.  Decision letters are mailed December 15.

Financial Aid:  PROFILE due online for Early Decision Round 1 candidates.  Use estimated income tax information from the prior tax year to complete the Profile.  You will have an opportunity to submit your updates at a later date, after January 1, to the Office of Financial Aid with current income tax information. 

Financial Aid:  Early Decision candidates submit parents' and student's most recent federal income tax returns and W-2s to the Office of Financial Aid via fax, email, or mail.

[For example:  Students applying Early Decison Round 1 in the Fall of 2013 for fall 2014 entry will complete the PROFILE by November 15, 2013 using estimated information from the last full tax year (tax year 2012). 

After January 1, all working members of the family will receive their W-2s from their employers for the most recently closed tax year.  Students and parents will then complete and file their income tax return(s) for that tax year and submit updated PROFILE information to the Office of Financial Aid.  After January 1, families will then also complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.]

December 15

Admission:  Early Decision Round 1 admission decision letters are mailed.

Financial Aid:  Early Decision Round 1 Financial Aid award letters are mailed from the College to admitted ED 1 students with demonstrated need.

January 15

Admission:  Deadline for Early Decision Round 2 candidates.  Decision letters are mailed February 15.

Financial Aid:  PROFILE due online for Early Decision Round 2 candidates.  If you have not yet received your prior year W-2s and have not yet completed your income tax return, use estimated income tax information from the prior tax year to complete the PROFILE.  You will have an opportunity to submit your PROFILE updates to the Office of Financial Aid after you have current and complete income tax information.

Financial Aid:  Early Decision Round 2 candidates submit parents' and student's most recent federal income tax returns and W-2s to the Office of Financial Aid via fax, email, or mail.

February 1

Admission:  Deadline for all Regular Decision admission applicants.

February 1

Financial Aid:  PROFILE due online for all regular decision applicants.  You may complete this form using estimated income information as early as November 1.

Financial Aid:  FAFSA due online for all Regular Decision and all Early Decision applicants.  You may complete and submit the FAFSA online between January 1 and February 1.

Admission:  Early Decision Round 2 admission decision letters are mailed.

Financial Aid:  Early Decision Round 2 Financial Aid award letters are mailed from the College to admitted ED 2 students with demonstrated need.

March 1

Financial Aid:  Regular Decision candidates submit parents' and student's most recent federal income tax returns and W-2s to IDOC.

Late March

Admission:  Regular admission decision letters are mailed.

Financial Aid:  Regular Decision Financial Aid award letters are mailed from the College to admitted students with demonstrated need.

May 1

Admission:  Enrollment deposit and agreement are due to the Office of Admission.

Financial Aid:  Acceptance of the financial aid award package should be completed at MyAidAward.

Financial Aid:  PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency) State Grant application deadline.  Your application must be filed prior to May 1 in order to receive this PA State Grant.

June 15

Financial Aid:  All additionally requested supporting documents are due at the Office of Financial Aid.
