Academic Innovation and Enrichment Funds

These funds are available to underwrite program innovation and enrichment that show promise of having a significant and positive impact on the learning environment at Franklin & Marshall College.

Faculty may apply for support for course or curriculum development, as well as faculty research study.

In the past, this Fund has provided funds for guest speakers and performers in classes; field trips; specialized software for classroom use; tickets for students attending concerts, theater productions, or dance productions; faculty participation in workshops or short courses that will enhance their teaching or result in substantial change in the structure of a course.

The Academic Innovation and Enrichment Fund will not provide the following:

  • Funding for more than one year of a project.
  • Expansion of normal budget lines.
  • Reimbursement of costs incurred or projected in completion of any academic degree.

Applications for funds to establish new continuing programs are not appropriate. These grants are intended to provide for one-time expenses that will result in an immediate or enduring enrichment of the program at F&M.

Faculty members should apply using Academic Innovation Application Form.

Please note: Funds are limited, and increasing demand forces us to limit the size of most awards to less than $500.
