Phi Kappa Sigma was founded at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 16, 1850. The Zeta chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma was established at Franklin & Marshall College in 1854.
Its members have shared a strong sense of brotherhood, and the Phi Kappa Sigma, also known as Skulls, have always been a great presence in the F&M community. Many of the brothers are involved in performing groups, clubs, and leadership positions such as the rugby team, chamber singers, orchestra, French club, and the Greek Council. Not only is the brotherhood a well-rounded group that is active in many aspects of the College, but they also have a significant presence in the local community as they work with organizations such as One in Four, and also work toward philanthropic pursuits with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Habitat for Humanity. Recently, the fraternity sponsored a Battle of the Bands benefit gig on-campus to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
