Thursday, October 23

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Common Hour: The Art of Disruption, Joan Fallon, Ph.D.  ’79, Founder and CEO of Curemark.
Dr. Fallon will discuss how disruptive thinking, questioning conventional assumptions and overcoming obstacles – driven by the confidence she gained as biology major at F&M – have led her to creating innovative new approaches to treat unmet medical needs.

Enjoy luncheon with fellow Nevonian alumni and a presentation by Kostis Kourelis, assistant professor of art history discusses his exhibit in the Phillips Museum of Art, Building Memory: Archetecture and the Great War. Join faculty and museum staff for this recreation of a WW I Canteen, complete with coffee, baked goods and music of the period, to commemorate the centennial of the nation’s First World War. These canteens were held to sell war bonds and to recruit volunteers for the war effort. They were an important part of the women’s contribution to the home front in the United States. The Canteen is sponsored by the Phillips Museum of Art

Squash A.C.E.S. College Access Program is Franklin & Marshall’s urban youth squash program, in partnership with the School District of Lancaster, where staff and student volunteers provide an after-school enrichment program for middle and high school students focused on college access.
This fundraising and celebratory event will feature an exciting exhibition match between F&M squash coach Gavin Jones (former 37th in the world) and current team member, Wesley "Cole" Osborne (Bu19 Canadian #1 and #4 ranked Men's player). Followed by a Wales VS. North America doubles match in which Coach Gavin Jones & Fiona Murphy (#1 ranked Women's player) will face off against  team standouts Wesley "Cole" Osborne  & Andreina Benedith (Gu19 National Urban Squash Champion)  Join the squash team stars, alumni, families and our awesome ACES students for exciting action on the courts!
