Congratulations on your decision to attend Franklin & Marshall College. F&M has a proud tradition of enrolling students from around the globe and making their experience as meaningful and productive as possible. Before reading further about the steps you must take to learn about adjusting to the College and completing the necessary paperwork, visit Special Services for International Students for an overview.
We know that it is difficult for most International Students to attend Beginnings, for this reason we have created "virtual Beginnings" which will be available starting Friday, May 16. "Virtual Beginnings" will contain an online version of almost all things that occur at the on-campus Beginnings. Students who are unable to attend on-campus Beginnings for any reason will enjoy this alternative.
In late-April an email will be sent to your personal email account from Beginnings. In this email there will be a link to our New Student Information Form. It is very important that you complete this form prior to May 5. Eventually you will closely follow directions for completing paperwork and forms that are available on the Special Services for International Students page.
Additionally, you will find the answers to many of the questions you may have regarding arriving at and settling in on the F&M campus, in the International Students Q&A.
Pay close attention to deadlines. The first critical deadline is Monday, May 5th, the date by which you should have completed your Course Registration Preferences (in the New Student Info form you will have received in your personal email) and other online forms. It is imperative that you submit your course preferences online and have gotten in touch with us via email by this time. If we receive your choices after this time you will not likely receive your top preferences. If you have any questions, please contact us via email, or .
Also, be sure to check your F&M email regularly! We will be communicating with you throughout the summer via email and through the web, so be sure to check your email and the New Student Programs website often.
Be sure to check out the International Students webpage if you have not already done so.
Also, be sure to inform us well in advance of the precise day on which your mailing address will change, or important documents may never reach you in time. Don't tell us "June" but June 10th!
Good luck and be in touch!
