What to Pack

Recommended To Bring:

  • Extra long twin sheets (regular twin will not fit)
  • Stereo
  • Computer
  • Ethernet cord (wireless is available - cord can be used, if preferred)
  • TV and coaxial TV cable
  • Mattress cover/egg crate/memory foam
  • Dust buster or Swiffer
  • Cell phone
  • Air freshener
  • Pillows and pillow cases
  • Tissues
  • Blankets
  • Lamp/Floor lamp (halogen lamps are prohibited)
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Expandable window screen, optional, if a student desires to open the window
  • Umbrella or rain coat
  • Posters/pictures
  • Hygenic needs
  • Poster putty or 3M Command hangers (nails may not be used)
  • Refrigerator
    *Refrigerator Rental
    (both 1.8 cu ft. and 4 cu ft. refrigerators are acceptable for you to purchase as long as they are Energy Star.  As a convenience, you may also rent a microwave/fridge combo unit from our preferred vendor through F&M.  Please do not bring your own combo unit or stand alone microwave due to differences in wiring).
  • Laundry supplies (some washers require HE (high efficiency) detergent)
  • Scissors, stapler, tape
  • Laundry basket or bag
  • Back rest
  • 1 or 2 power strips/surge protectors
  • Envelopes and stamps
  • 1 or 2 extension cords
  • Window fan (all rooms are air conditioned but some students like to have a small fan)
  • Alarm clock
  • Pencil Sharpener
  • School supplies i.e. pens, pencils, paper, notebooks
  • Bandaids/cold medicine/first aid kit (locked boxes are available to rent from our microfridge vendor for prescription medications)
  • Flip flops for the shower
  • Sports Equipment

  • Snack foods
  • Storage bins

Do Not Bring:

  • Microwave (most halls have a microwave available)
  • Hot plates/hot pots
  • Electric Blanket 
  • Candles/incense
  • Power tools
  • Cinder blocks or other lofting items
  • Hunting items or weapons
  • Pets (fish are permitted - max. aquarium size 10 gallon)
  • Paint guns or BB guns
  • Upholstered furniture to campus as all housing options are fully furnished

We recommend that you contact your roommate before coming to school and to avoid having two of everything! Students often determine before arrival which roommate will bring a television, telephone, stereo, carpet, refrigerator, and other items of which only one is desired.
