June 2011 Student Managed Investment Portfolio

The Student Managed Investment Portfolio has provided over $100,000 in scholarships since its inception thirteen years ago.

Not a simulation or a model, the Student Managed Investment Portfolio invests real capital from generous donors who wish to foster an interest in the asset management profession.  With seed capital of over $270,000, the students analyze companies, select stocks, manage risk and communicate their philosophies and results to stakeholders.  They also experience the intricacies of decision-making within a group setting and the realities of working within the boundaries of an organization larger than themselves.
