Blackboard Mobile™ Learn is an application that gives students and faculty access to their courses, content, and organizations on a variety of mobile devices including Android™ and iPhone OS. Blackboard Mobile Learn™ is designed to provide students with instant access to their courses via mobile devices.
In leveraging the power of mobility, the Blackboard Mobile Learn application grants faculty and students instant access to their courses and content anywhere, anytime. This application provides users access to certain Blackboard features and functions. The features extended to the mobile platform include; mobile tests, push notifications, announcements, grades, discussions, content, blogs, journals, roster, tasks, assignments, and dashboard.
Mobile tests enable students to take tests and exams delivered through Blackboard Learn in a beautiful and easy interface on their Android and iOS devices. With Push Notifications, students can now elect to receive automatic, personalized notifications delivered straight to their mobile devices to help them stay informed. Instructors may post announcements, giving students instant access to the latest announcements. Students can find out how they did on their last midterm or homework assignment by using the Grades tool. The Discussions features enables students and instructors to easily read-up and contribute to Discussions. Students can access content uploaded by their instructors and interact with it on their device.
New Mobile Policy
The new Blackboard End-User License, available in mid-September, will allow students and instructors to decide themselves whether or not to purchase access to the app. End users will be able to choose between two different introductory pricing options:
- $1.99 per year
- One-time fee of $5.99.
Beginning on September 17, 2012 Blackboard users will be able to purchase the Mobile Learn App from either iTunes or Google (Android) for $1.99 per year or a perpetual license for $5.99. The following Personal Licence option will be available in mid September:

Existing Blackboard App Users
If you have previously downloaded the free Blackboard Mobile App, you will be prompted to purchase an annual license for $1.99 or a perpetual license for $5.99 upon accessing the App. This prompt will appear on and after September 17, 2012. -
New Blackboard App Users
New Blackboard Users will be promoted to purchase annual license for $1.99 or a perpetual license for $5.99 upon opening the App.
