Summer/Extended Stay Housing

We are pleased to offer summer housing for students who require housing for Franklin & Marshall academic, internship or student employment. In order to qualify for student housing at the reducted rate of $95.00 per week you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • You must be enrolled in an academic course or internship through F&M
  • You are participating in academic research (i.e. Hackman Scholar) or completing an academic assignment for an F&M professor
  • You must be employed by an F&M department or service
If you request summer housing, please download the Summer 2014 lease agreement to the right, sign and submit to Lori Foust, Room 101-B Old Main OR sign, scan and email signed document prior to picking up your keys.

Pending approval for summer campus housing, you will be contacted with details regarding your assignment.  Summer housing can begin as early as Thursday, May 15, 2014.  Student summer housing will be located in a theme house on W. James Street.  Submit requests by Monday, May 5th.

Move out for underclass students - Sunday, May 4th at noon. 

Move out for graduating seniors - Sunday, May 11th at noon. 

Extended Stay  

Participating in Commencement: If you are an underclassmen and participating in Commencement (musician performing at commencement) OR if you are a graduating senior, you must complete this form indicating that length of stay from 5/04/14 through 5/11/14. You will be permitted to stay in your current room at no cost, however, you must vacate your campus housing no later then Sunday, 5/11/14.  Students currently living in Weis Hall may need to vacate by Tuesday, May 6th, as parents and families of graduates are housed in that location.  Lori Foust will reach out to you if you need to be moved.  Any displaced students will be housed in another hall from May 6 through May 11.  There is no cost for extended stay housing for rising seniors or musicians performing at commencement.

Graduating seniors who live in a theme house must move out by Monday, May 12, 2014.

Participating in Beginnings: If you are an underclass student and volunteer during Beginnings 5/12/14 and 5/14/14, your housing is at no cost.  All students must vacate by Thursday, 5/15/14. You may need to relocate if maintenance work is taking place in your present dorm area or if you currently live in Weis Hall. You will be notified if a move is necessary. If you are on the schedule to volunteer during Beginnings, you must report for your scheduled shift assignments or you will be charged for your housing at the rate of $185.00 per week.

Athletics: If you are participating in a spring sport that requires you to stay on-campus, each athlete must submit a request form indicating the length of stay needed (your coach will determine). Depending on the length of stay, you may need to relocate to another residential hall.

Extended Stay: If you need an extended stay due to a flight conflict or for other compelling reasons, please complete the Summer Housing Request form indicating the length of stay. Most will be accommodated in their present housing location.  The Summer 2014 housing rate is $95.00 per week (for qualified students) and will be billed to your F&M account. Extended stay housing ends Thursday, May 15th.

Commencement:  Students who are in need of housing to attend commencement exercises may complete the reservation form below to stay in Weis Hall on Friday, May 9th with parents and families of graduates.  The cost is $25 for double occupancy and $30 for single occupancy.  Bed linens are provided but please bring your own pillow, light blanket, towels and bathroom supplies.

If you do not qualify for student reduced rate housing, the cost will be $185 per week.

Summer Housing ends on Friday, August 8, 2014.

NOTE: Filling out this form does not grant approval to remain on campus over the summer.

Summer housing costs will be billed to your F&M account.  If you are not an F&M student your summer housing costs must be paid in full at the Business Office prior to moving in.
