When not in the Provost's Office or taking minutes at various meetings across campus, Lydia often can be found working on a theatrical production. She is the Executive Director of local arts nonprofit Creative Works of Lancaster and Facilitator of the Lancaster Dramatists' Platform, a group of playwrights from the region. Since her return to Lancaster after college, much of her theatrical work has focused on new plays, and in addition to directing and acting in many short pieces by members of the Platform, she has directed several full-length plays by local playwrights. Her directing and acting credits beyond Creative Works include productions with Theater of the Seventh Sister, Elizabethtown College, Donegal High School, Wood Stove House, and Dreamwrights Theatre. She has taught classes at the Fulton Theatre, is a founding member of local sketch comedy troupe Happy Time Explosion Show!, and has appeared in all of Creative Works' signature sock puppet parodies of classic films.
