"We are very grateful to everyone who supported this year’s campaign,” says Sandi Smoker, department coordinator of the Ware Institute for Civic Engagement. “These funds will help many Lancaster County nonprofits to keep providing vital services to our community neighbors in need."
Although the campaign officially ended on Nov. 4, individuals wishing to donate may send donation forms to Smoker this week. They may also donate online at uwlanc.org.
Donors who pledge at least $4 per week ($208 total) will be included in a Dec. 5 drawing to win $10,000 in groceries from Darrenkamp’s Market; a Harley-Davidson Sportster; a four-day Caribbean cruise for two; a $2,500 Visa gift card; or $2,500 Voyager gas card. People who increase their gift by $1 per week over their 2010 gift will also have a chance to win the prizes, while those who meet both entry criteria will have two chances in the drawing.
United Way of Lancaster County is a nonprofit organization focusing on the most critical health and human service needs in the county. It partners with businesses, individuals, government and other nonprofits to develop, fund and identify a range of solutions to the county's most urgent needs.
