Sheena Crawley ’13 struck gold three times and captured Franklin & Marshall’s first track Performer of the Meet as the women’s track & field team placed fourth at the Centennial Conference (CC) Indoor Championships on Feb. 25 at Ursinus College.
Crawley claimed two individual events for the Diplomats and was a member of a winning relay team. She earned her first gold in the mile with a 5:05.39, beating her closest competition by three seconds. Crawley picked up her second gold in the 800-meter run, crossing with a time of 2:14.86.
F&M's other individual gold medal came from Caitlin Regan ’12 in the 400-meter run. Regan crossed for a first-place finish at 59.59, while teammate Henley Siegrist ’12 earned a silver medal at 59.66. Crawley, Regan and Siegrist later joined Ariel Lefkovits ’13 to place first in the 4 x 400 relay at 4:02.69.
The relay team of Siegrist, Alexandra Hawkins ’15, Brea Smith ’15, and Regan also took first place in the 4 x 200 relay with a 1:48.28, edging Ursinus by four-tenths of a second.
On the men’s side, F&M finished in sixth place overall. The Diplomats won a gold medal in the 4 x 800 relay, as Joe Strawitz ’13, Derek Pawlush ’15, Greg Olenginski ’15 and Luk Olenginski ’15 finished at 7:58.27, four seconds ahead of their nearest competition.
