To promote the health, safety, comfort and well-being of all members of the College community, Franklin & Marshall prohibits smoking:
within 30 feet of the entrance or exit to any building on campus;
inside all campus buildings (offices, classrooms, the College Houses/residence halls, dining areas, break rooms, restrooms, public areas, etc.);
at all indoor and outdoor athletic events; and
inside College vans, chartered buses or other College vehicles used for mass transportation.
The policy applies to faculty and professional staff, students, contracted service providers and vendors and visitors to campus.

The College’s health insurance carrier, HealthAmerica, currently offers reimbursement for the cost of smoking-cessation classes to HealthAmerica plan participants, including enrolled family members. For further details, please call Member Services at (800) 252-5742.
The Employee Assistance Program provides full-time College employees with access to a network of counselors who will provide assistance with smoking-cessation efforts.
Students may contact Appel Health Services and/or Counseling Services during the academic year for counseling, referral and information about smoking-cessation.
