I am very excited to announce that Kathryn (“Katie”) Schellenger, J.D., will join Franklin & Marshall as its new Director of Legal Professions Advising on Monday, September 9, 2013. Katie comes to us after practicing law for several years in Washington DC, representing corporate clients in civil and criminal litigation matters at the state and federal court levels, while also handling pro bono cases. Prior to entering private practice, Katie clerked for two different federal court judges, which, with her private practice and pro bono experience, will allow her to provide to students and alumni a rich and informed perspective on various pathways within law.
Prior to practicing law, Katie worked in human resources and benefits administration for the Four Seasons Hotel in New York.
Katie received her B.A., cum laude, from Bucknell University, where she majored in German and International Relations and completed a minor in art history. Katie received her J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law, where she also earned finalist honors in several national moot court competitions.
Many thanks to Carmen Tisnado, Julie Kerich, Maura Condon Umble, Tammy Halstead, Glenn Cummings and Margaret Hazlett for their time and efforts in evaluating, interviewing and selecting our finalist candidates for this role.
Please join me in welcoming Katie to the F&M community.
