Davis Projects for Peace

One hundred project proposals are chosen by the Davis United World College Scholars Program each year to receive a $10,000 grant. It is left up to the student to define what a "project for peace" might be.  Projects must take place during the summer, and can be based anywhere in the world, including in the United States.

Significant work is required before submitting a proposal.  For advice on a project idea, contact the Office of International Programs.


How to Apply

All current students are eligible to apply, including seniors who will complete the project after graduation.

Complete applications for 2011 are due in the Office of International Programs on November 28, 2011.  Late applications will not be considered by the committee.

To apply, complete for online Sumer Travel Award Application form, on which you will attach a completed Budget Form.

Each applicant must also submit two letters of recommendation by the application deadline.  Recommenders should e-mail the Davis Projects for Peace Recommendation Form to with the subject "Reference for [Student's Name]."

The Franklin & Marshall Committee on Campus Life will review proposals and select nominees.  Upon nomination, students will be required to refine the project proposal for final submission to the Davis Projects for Peace selection committee.

Winners must submit a written report to the Davis UWC Scholars Program upon completion of the project.
