Application Deadlines

F&M requires all students planning to study off-campus to submit an online F&M Off-Campus Study application form. Students must complete this application in addition to any program application requirements (such as those required by IES, IFSA Butler or SU Abroad) by the following deadlines:

Required F&M Off-Campus Study Application Form

  • October 20 for off-campus study during the following spring semester
  • March 20 for off-campus study during the upcoming summer, fall or academic year

Although program application deadlines vary, we recommend completing any program application requirements as well as this F&M application prior to the F&M deadlines (remember, some program deadlines may be even earlier than F&M's deadlines; it is your responsibility to be sure you have completed all requirements by your program's deadline).

Note: students who are requesting individual approval to participate on a program that has not been pre-approved must also submit the Individual Approval Petition Form, found on the F&M website at below. This form is due by October 1 for study the following spring semester, and March 1 for off-campus study during the upcoming summer or fall semester.

Individual Approval Program Requests

If you are interested in participating on a program that has not been pre-approved by F&M, you may request consideration for individual approval of an off-campus study program. Students must submit a formal request through the online Individual Approval Request form by the following deadlines:

October 1 (for off-campus study during the upcoming spring semester)

March 1 (for off-campus study during the upcoming summer or fall semester/academic year)

Individual Approval Request Form

All programs will be evaluated for quality of academics and student support services.  If you are considering a program that is not on the pre-approved list, your off-campus study adviser will guide you through the approval process.
