Staying Connected

Although you may not be here in Lancaster, you're still an F&M student when you study off-campus! Because of this, you have access to many of the same resources that are available when you are here at F&M.

Library Services

Students studying off-campus can access the Library's online resources by using the VPN client application. VPN is used to authenticate and use Library resources when you are not on the college network. After launching VPN, choose "fandm-internet" in the VPN window, then enter your F&M username and password.

If you do not already have a VPN lient (check your Applications folder), go to the Software Server to download the application. Tutorials are available for connecting with Macs or Windows.

If you cannot access Library services using VPN, the follow web address is unsupported by College Computing, but should still allow you to connect to network-restricted resources:

https://vpn3000internet.fandm.edu

Choose the link to add certificate exception, then Add Exception. At the following window, choose Get Certificate, then Confirm Security Exception. Retain the default checkmark to permanently keep certificate. On the following screen, you can enter your F&M username and password.

For more information about using Library services off-campus, please visit the Library's FAQ website at http://library.fandm.edu/faq.php

Career Services

Although you are off-campus, you can still participate in CareerCoaching with a Career Coach here at F&M. Coaches teach strategies, provide opportunities for students to practice skills, recommend plans for moving forward, teach networking as the cornerstone of the search, and make suggestions based on robust experience, training, and knowledge.

Career Coaches can also provide specific advising on how to integrate your off-campus study experience into resumes and interviews. To make an appointment with a Career Coach, please contact  Career Services at 717-291-4084 or visit http://www.fandm.edu/careerservices/career-coaching
