Dear Parents,
The campus is surprisingly busy this summer with F&M College Prep (talented high school students receiving academic enrichment and college admission process support), various sports camps, CTY (Johns Hopkins’ Center for Talented Youth program that brings talented middle school kids to campus for academic courses) as well as plenty of F&M students working and doing research with faculty. It’s great to see our facilities being put to such good use during the summer months -- a win-win for all.
I hope you are experiencing a slightly slower pace this summer and are finding ways to enjoy time with your student, family and friends. We look forward to seeing the students back next month!
All the best,

We are all pleased that F&M was recently ranked among the best in the country for career services! The list, published by "Best Colleges Online," gives Franklin & Marshall high marks for its career-preparation programs. F&M tops a list of schools that "really stand out for what they have to offer students who are entering one of the toughest job markets in recent history." Take a look at the article here.
More News from the new Office of Student & Post-Graduate Development
The national attention we received from "Best Colleges Online" acknowledges
the early work of Associate Vice President for Student & Post-Graduate
Development Beth Glenn Throne, Esq., '95 and her team. Here is an
opportunity for parents to be a part of this success and momentum:
The new Office of Student and Post-Graduate Development is developing a
database of F&M alumni and parents willing to provide career advice and
support to students and young alumni. Whether you have a few minutes to
share periodically via email, or a few hours to participate in an alumni
panel in your area, any amount of time you can contribute to this initiative
would be invaluable.
You recently received an email from Beth asking
you to complete a confidential online questionnaire listing the many ways
parents and alumni can mentor and assist our students and recent graduates.
If you haven’t already done so, please
visit this site to complete
the survey.
Using this information, the Office of Student and Post-Graduate Development will create a password-protected database, accessible only by members of the F&M community, which will enable them to connect with you in the ways you have authorized in your survey responses. You will also have access to this system to update your profile and preferred type of involvement as often as you wish.
Thank you in advance for supporting our community and for partnering with us to launch F&M students into fulfilling lives and successful careers after graduation.
More information can be found on the Office of Student and Post-Graduate Development website, or by contacting Beth at 717-291-4084 or beth.throne@fandm.edu.

For those of you who are new to F&M, please come out to meet some of your fellow parents! They can be an invaluable source of experience and information to you and your student.
For those of you who are returning parents, please come out and help us provide an appropriate introduction to our new families.

Parent giving is an increasingly important part of the College's success. We honor and thank the many parents who supported the College philanthropically during the fiscal year that ended on June 30. These parents recognize that their philanthropic support directly affects their own child while also ensuring a future of excellent opportunities for all F&M students.
