Franklin & Marshall students were invited to submit a short story to the annual Jerome Irving Bank Memorial Short Story Contest, the winner of which received $1000 and the opportunity to meet with this year's contest judge, Dan Chaon.
Dan Chaon’s most recent novel, Await Your Reply, is a thrilling exploration of identity in the heartland. It appears on the New York Times Bestseller List and has received numerous other accolades. Chaon is also the author of Among the Missing, a finalist for the National Book Award, and You Remind Me of Me, which was named one of the best books of the year by The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, The Christian Science Monitor, and Entertainment Weekly. Chaon’s fiction has appeared in Best American Short Stories, The Pushcart Prize, and The O. Henry Prize Stories.
The Jerome Irving Bank Esq., Memorial Fund was established in 2003 by F&M alumnus Lawrence Henry Bank, Esq. '65 to honor and preserve the memory of his late brother, Jerome Irving Bank.
