The John B. Noss Prize in Philosophy is given each year to the student who has done the best work in Philosophy during the current year. A restricted endowment fund was established in 1967 by Dr. John B. Noss (Class of 1916), Emeritus Professor of Philosophy, in honor of his grandfather, John G. Noss, and his father, Christopher Noss.
