Welcome to the official website of the Dillerville Yard Consolidation Project, an exciting initiative led by Franklin & Marshall College and Lancaster General that will consolidate Norfolk Southern’s existing rail yard, provide for the next wave of economic development in Northwest Lancaster, re-connect the city street grid system, and improve the environmental conditions in the greater Lancaster area.
We thank you for taking the time to learn more about this historic initiative, one that we believe will benefit the College, Lancaster General and the community. And we encourage you to become more involved by reviewing these materials, attending community meetings as we schedule them in the coming weeks, and asking questions or offering suggestions to improve this exciting new plan. The College and Lancaster General are committed to sharing as much information as possible about this project as more details become available. So check this site for new postings.
This site contains the April edition of the "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ) document that was mailed to approximately 1,500 residents in Manheim, Lancaster and East Hempfield townships who live near the project site. The FAQ was also electronically circulated by the James Street Improvement District to a broad base of residents in northwest Lancaster. The FAQ will be updated with additional questions and answers as new items arise. In addition, the site contains project maps, informational documents with background details and related articles.
We are very interested in your ideas to make this project better so please let us know your thoughts and suggestions by clicking on the "Contact Us" link and sending us your questions, comments or suggestions.
Thanks for your interest!
