One of the new initiatives that is part of the Senior Class Campaign for 2013-2014 is the "Star Moments" raffle, which will begin this October. The Senior Class Campaign is the way the graduating class ignites a culture of philanthropy by giving back to F&M. Each Wednesday in October, one randomly selected donor to the fundraising campaign will be chosen to participate in a "Star Moment" -- an opportunity to take part in something special in and around F&M that might otherwise be inaccessible or difficult for most students. These Star Moments will include opportunities for:
watching an F&M athletic event of the senior's choice from the press box
visiting the primate lab in the basement of the Life Sciences building (because of safety and security, this is usually only available to specific science-related majors)
having fried pickles with President Porterfield at local restaurant Fenz
Drawings will continue throughout the year, with Star Moments that will include F&M-centric opportunities that are great to check off any Senior Year Bucket List.
The name "Star Moments" references the theme for this year's Senior Class Campaign, which is "Earn Your Star." Donors to the campaign receive a star next to their name at F&M events, on their nametag, and on the list of donors to identify those who financially support the College. At the Senior Toast the Thursday before Commencement, the class of 2014 will present the senior class gift to F&M. Please encourage your senior to give back to F&M through the Senior Class Campaign.
