Staff

Glenn Cummings is the Director of Health Professions Advising at F&M. From 2004 to 2012, he directed Health Professions Advising at Princeton University, and prior to that he served as the Director of Preprofessional Advising at the University of Virginia. He is an active member of the Northeast Association of Advisors of the Health Professions (NEAAHP) and the National Association of Advisors of the Health Professions (NAAHP), serving on the NAAHP’s Communications Committee and as Chair of its Letters of Evaluation Task Force.  He is also a member of the NEAAHP’s liaison group with the Association of American Medical College (AAMC)’s Northeast Group on Student Affairs. In addition, Dr. Cummings serves as a member of the AAMC’s Letters of Evaluation Advisory Group. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Colby College and his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. He is an avid runner, reader, and writer.

Mission

  • To promote academic excellence by providing accurate guidelines for completing pre-health coursework, for understanding admission requirements, and for using all available resource
  • To encourage involvement in healthcare, primarily through clinical work, service, and research
  • To advise, evaluate, and advocate for F&M students and alumni as they make informed decisions about health professional school and the professional life that follows
