Life After College Success

Established by a gift from a parent of a 2009 graduate, this highly selective, two-year program prepares students to launch into their lives and careers after graduation by:

  • Providing opportunities to meet and hear speakers of influence reflect about their post-graduate years and career paths;
  • Teaching students how to powerfully articulate the applicability of their liberal arts education and experiences to providers of internships, experiential learning opportunities and employment opportunities;
  • Helping students identify, initiate and develop relevant professional connections; and
  • Teaching valuable professional skills and competencies.

There are two components to this program: a speaker series and peer-group workshops.  In recent years, the speaker series has included Eric Noll ’83, P’09, Trustee and Executive Vice-President of Transaction Services of NASDAQ OMX; Paula T. Dow Esq. ‘77, former Attorney General, State of New Jersey; and Michael Dee ‘85, CEO, Miami Dolphins.   The speakers are complemented by peer group workshops where students learn about, among other things, public speaking skills, effective self-presentation methods, networking skills and resources, and competing for opportunities of interest to them.

In junior year, students participate in speaker events and peer group workshops specifically designed for juniors.  In senior year, students continue to participate in the speaker events and at least four advanced-level workshops specifically designed for seniors.

Juniors apply and are selected for this two-year program over the summer.

The Life After College Success Program is made possible through the generosity of Ed Satell P'09 and Progressive Business Publications.
