Ware in the World continued one of our most prized traditions in 2011, beWARE the Goat. We brought Bethany, a goat from a local farm, to campus for a Closer Look to raise money for Heifer International. The event was a huge hit, as Warians, faculty, alums, and other prospective students got their pictures taken and played with Bethany. By the end of the day, Ware in the World raised over $250 for charity! To see more photos from the event, check out the album on facebook.
This March, our community service group, Ware in the World organized the Ware Pie Eating Contest in the Ware Great Room to help raise funds for the Lancaster Refugee Winter Coat Drive and support relief efforts in Japan. Warians ate pie, socialized, and were entertained by our very own HAs stuffing themselves as fast as they can! There was a representative from each hall participating in the contest, and they each had a donation jar to collect as much money as possible to support the Coat Drive for Lancaster Refugees and the Japanese relief efforts. After a hard fought competition, HA Alex Yfraimov finished his pie first and was crowned the Ware Pie-Eating Champion! Check out footage from the extravaganza here.
