Ware Institute Internships

    Do you have the "right stuff" to become a Ware Institute Intern? We are looking for students who are passionate about the Ware Institute's mission and about working to improve their campus and community.  

    The Ware Institute for Civic Engagement is looking for two new interns to start January 14, 2014. Our interns play an integral role in supporting the mission and vision of the Ware Institute.

Ware Institute Office Interns:

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating volunteer opportunities with community partners
  • Ensuring an active and positive volunteer experience for F&M students by having an effective and involved relationship with volunteers
  • Interacing with College Houses, student clubs, teams and fraternities and sororities to discuss service activities and track service hours
  • Researching and arranging service projects for groups that partner with the Ware Institute
  • Managing transportation and other logistical tasks
  • Implementing marketing and social media campaigns
  • Creating spreadsheets and documenting volunteer hours
  • Supporting Ware Institute staff

Additionally, all interns serve as ambassadors for the Ware Institute by staying informed about all programming and capitalizing on every opportunity to advance the mission of the Ware Institute.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Ware Institute programs
  • Affinity with Ware Institute mission
  • Strong communication skills
  • Persistence and determination
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Docs
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently

Pay: $7.25/hour for 10 hours each week
