Personal Training

Personal Training is available at a fee for all members of the college community.  If you are interested in this service please contact the individuals listed below.  These are individuals who have been approved by the College to provide this service to our patrons.

As a personal trainer and physical therapist assistant, I am dedicated to helping you transform your life. My primary goal is to help get you results and push past your plateaus. I teach, coach, and inspire by fusing functional, challenging strength training with energy balancing to enhance the whole person. My training tailors to your sports training, personal needs, goals, and/or physical limitations by delivering innovative and concise workouts that are 100% customized for you. Why would we all train the same or follow the same set of rules to getting healthier?  Not only is that ineffective, but it is boring! You will practice an "Out of the Box" training mentality to keep your workouts fresh, challenging, and producing results. Together we will focus on goals that go way beyond your physical appearance so that you can enhance your total well-being as a whole - Whole Person Health!

Whether you are starting out or looking for a new challenge, I  am ready to assist you in achieving your goals.  Many people find it difficult to figure out how  to incorporate exercise into their daily routine.  I can help you develop a plan that will suit your needs while fitting into your hectic schedule.  I like to emphasizes wellness as part of daily lifestyle, and I am excited to work with clients of all levels.  I offer individual sessions or packages so I am sure to have something that will work for you.  For the month of February, I am offering a Winter Special.  I am offering a package of three 30 minute sessions for $60.  Please contact me if you are interested in personal or if you need more information.

I'm on the athletic training staff here at F&M and as part of my personal life I am well versed in physical fitness/nutrition. I'm offering one on one personal training sessions, individualized workout plans and nutritional plans. Spring Into Fitness Challenge

Announcing the 2016 Spring into Fitness Challenge!

March 20th- April 30th.

This six week wellness program gives you the opportunity to increase your individual fitness levels while engaging in a friendly competition with employees of: 

Dickinson

Elizabethtown

Gettysburg

York

There are two trophies up for grabs:

* one award for the institution with the highest percentage of employees completing all six weeks of the challenge

* one award for the institution that racks up the highest average total minutes of exercise per participant over the six weeks.

It's easy to participate: exercise for at least 15 minutes at a time and log in minutes weekly. The more you exercise, the more you benefit (and the closer we get to finally winning a trophy).

All employees are eligible for weekly and final prize drawings!

Pilates

Pilates is a method of body conditioning that combines stretching and strengthening exercises to tone muscles, improve posture and increase flexibility by training your mind and body to work together. This will be a beginner/intermediate class that will teach you the basic concepts of the Pilates method and a series of controlled movements to strengthen your core muscles: abs, back, hips and thighs.  

Most movements are done on the floor, so bring a mat and dress comfortably in yoga pants, bike shorts, etc.

When: Mondays, 5:15 – 6:15 pm; classes start on 3/21 and run for 5 weeks ending 4/18.

YMCA Discount

Franklin & Marshall is pleased to have joined the Lancaster YMCA's Healthy Workplace Program.  Through the Healthy Workplace Program, faculty and professional staff of Franklin & Marshall are eligible to receive discounts on adult and family YMCA memberships, both at the City Y and the Lampeter-Strasburg branch.  Faculty and staff are eligible to receive a 10% discount on an adult or family Y membership, as well as a discounted initial registration fee.

Faculty and staff who wish to join the Lancaster Y may download a membership application from http://www.lancasterymca.org/join/ , and should bring the completed application to a Y branch along with their F&M ID card.  Current Lancaster Y members can receive the 10% discount going forward by showing their F&M ID card to a YMCA membership coordinator.

2014 American Heart Association Award
