Basic Power Yoga

An introduction to power yoga poses that build strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance. Modifications shown for all ability levels. A great body sculpting workout! No experience necessary. Yoga mat required.

Instructor Jane Marie Clipman has been practicing yoga for 26 years and is certified through the Himalayan Institute.

When: Tuesdays 5:00 – 5:50 p.m.

Location: Woods Room, ASFC  *First class only on 9/16 in Faculty Dining Hall. Enter near Ware

College House.

Registration: Tuesday September 9th 5:00-6:00p.m. outside ROS 113, $55 for 12 classes: September 16th – December 9th


Advanced Power Yoga

An advanced Vinyasa class with fast-paced sequences of very challenging poses called out in Sanskrit. Prior experience (good alignment), strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina necessary. Yoga mat required.

Gentle Yoga

A relaxing Hatha yoga class with easy postures designed to increase flexibility, relieve muscle tension, and reduce stress. Good for people with injuries or limited flexibility. Yoga mat required.

When: Tuesdays 11:25a.m. – 12:35p.m.

Where: Dance Studio B (ROS 113)

Registration: Tuesday September 9th 11:30am-12:30pm or 5:00-6:00p.m outside ROS 113

$55 for 12 classes: September 16th – December 9th

Uncommon Hour option of any 6 classes for $39


Pilates

Pilates is a method of body conditioning that combines stretching and strengthening exercises to tone muscles, improve posture and increase flexibility by training your mind and body to work together. This will be a beginner/intermediate class that will teach you the basic concepts of the Pilates method and a series of controlled movements to strengthen your core muscles: abs, back, hips and thighs.  


Most movements are done on the floor, so bring a mat and dress comfortably in yoga pants, bike shorts,etc.


When: Mondays, 5:00 – 6:00 pm; classes start on 9/29 and run for 8 weeks.  There will be no class on October 13th.


Instructor:  Beth Buckwalter AAAI/ISMA certified in Mat Pilates  

Location: Booth Ferris North all classes except for 11/3 which will be in the Woods Room in the ASFC.

Cost: $45.00

Body Fit

BodyFit is an explosion of cross-training techniques pulled from a
variety of training disciplines. It maximizes strength and cardio by
incorporating functional strengthening, agility, plyometrics,
kickboxing, and various other training styles.  No two classes are
alike! This class will take your own personal fitness to the next
level. BodyFit is designed for all fitness levels and is structured
with cueing and instruction to challenge beginners as well as more
advanced exercisers.

What to bring: Please bring a large mat (or large towel), water, and a
small towel because you will sweat!

When: Mondays, 6:15 – 7:15 pm, Classes begin September 29th
