April 2011 Issue

Welcome! From Director Daniel Frick

Our April issue of Active Voice contains the following stories:

  • an interview with former Head Tutor John Parsley (1999–2000 and 2000–2001). A former editor of The College Dispatch, John has been working as a book editor since his graduation from F&M.
  • the second installment of F&M Confidential: The Adventures of Gil Goodpen.  In this episode, "The Case of the Cagey Collaborator," Gil learns that for group-written essays, as in murder mysteries, the key question is "who dunnit?"
  • an exploration of what the Writing Center staff is reading when they're not at work.
  • the final column from our own Doc Writing, Brad Woodman.

Look for the last Active Voice of the year in early May.  We'll introduce you to our new staff members and announce the winners of this year's Whitesell Prize competition.
