January:
January 12-14- The intensive two-day The Winning Edge Campaign School for Women came to Franklin and Marshall College and offered the chance to learn the art of running a successful political campaign. Both F&M female students and women from the community participated.
January 31- Special discussion on "Women in the House System: Are They Where They Should Be?" in the South Ben Seminar Room
February:
Friday, February 10- 3pm: "Sexual Assault 101", a presentation by Jodi Reinhart from the YWCA Sexual Assault Prevention & Counseling Center
Sunday, February 12- 5:30pm: "Sandakan 8" (Brothel Number 8), an award-winning Japanese film that tells the true story of a young Japanese girl sold by her family to be a "comfort woman" for Japanese troops overseas.
February 14: Vagina Monologues performance at Franklin and Marshall.
March:
Friday, March 10- Is Poverty Gendered? Women Worldwide are the Poorest of the Poor. Co-sponsored with International Studies and Office of International Programs
March 6-10- International Women's Week
March 9- International Women's Day Lecture 7p.m. in Stahr Auditorium, "Women, Islam and Politics in the Arab World," Dr. Ibtesam Al Atiyat
March 23- Take Back the Night- Keynote Speaker Katie Koestner 7 p.m. in Barshinger Center
March 28- Presentation by Darlene Colon on "Forgotten Woman: Lydia Hamilton Smith 7 p.m. in the Women's Center
