Publication Policies
The College Reporter was formed in 1964, successor to The Student Weekly, which was formed in 1915 by the union of The F&M Weekly, founded in 1891, and The College Student, founded in 1881. The crest of The College Reporter was designed in 2004 by Kim Cortes '05. The College Reporter is a weekly student-edited newspaper, published every Monday except during exam and vacation periods. It is printed by The Ephrata Review, 1 East Main Street, Ephrata, PA. The subscription rate is $48 per year.
The Editorial Board, headed by the Editor in Chief, has sole authority and full responsibility for the content of the newspaper. The Masthead Editorial is the majority opinon of the Editor in Chief, Senior Editor, Managing Editor, News Editor, and the Editorials Editor. No other parties are in any other way responsible for its content, and all inquiries concerning that content should be directed to the Editor in Chief.
The opinions, outside the Masthead Editorial, published in the pages of the Editorial and Opinion section, reviews and other opinion commentary do not reflect those of the Editorial Board. These submissions reflect the opinion of the author only and not that of The College Reporter or F&M.
Letters Policy: The College Reporter welcomes letters reflecting on articles in this publication and comments on the news in general. The author's name must accompany the letter. Letters should be no longer than 400 words in length. The deadline for all letters is 4 p.m. Friday before the next publication. Letters may be submitted to reporter@fandm.edu. The headlines for letters and columns are written by the Editorial Board. The College Reporter reserves the right to reject letters which do not meet its standards of integrity and decency and may be edited at the discretion of The College Reporter for length and clarity.
