Professional Development Opportunities

Members of the professional staff are encouraged to continuously learn, enhance their employment-related skills and capabilities, and stay abreast of trends and best-practices in their field. These web pages provide information about professional development opportunities that professional staff may wish to pursue. The links in the sidebar lead to information about various professional development sessions held primarily on-campus. Below are links to additional professional development resources.

Also, consider the following methods for enhancing skills and abilities:

  • attend professional meetings and conferences
  • join a professional association / network with other professionals
  • participate on a committee or task force
  • participate on a community board
  • work on a special project
  • cross-train with a colleague
  • take on a new responsibility
  • read professional journals
  • benchmark other organizations' processes and procedures to learn best-practices
  • research a particular job-related topic
  • attend some of the many meetings and events held on campus
