Weekly Hours Test
How Many Hours Per Week May A Student Work On Campus?
Use the following four-step checklist to determine a student employee's hours per week eligibility. All four test points must ring true for each student in order to be in compliance with the policies of the campus-based student employment program. Should any of the following tests produce a false result, please notify the Office of Financial Aid.
- During the fall and spring semester, non-break periods, a student may work up to 10 hours/week total, across all Federal Work Study (FWS) or College Work Award (WAD) jobs.
- During the fall and spring semester, non-break periods, a student may work up to 20 hours/week total, across all departmental stipend jobs as long as they do not have a simultaneous Federal Work Study (FWS) or College Work Award (WAD) jobs.
- During the fall and spring semester, non-break periods, a student who has a Federal Work Study (FWS) or College Work Award (WAD) and a simultaneous departmental stipend job(s) may work up to 20 hours/week total, across all jobs, with no more than 10 hours being in FWS or WAD at any point during the fall and spring semesters.
- During winter, spring, and summer breaks, a student may work up to 40 hours/week total, across all Federal Work Study (FWS), College Work Award (WAD), or stipend jobs.
