Andrew S. Walls

Andy Walls graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Music Education from Duquesne University. He earned an artist diploma in Trombone Performance from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. While studying in Scotland, he received the Rotary Foundation's United States Ambassadorial Scholarship and was a finalist for both the Governor's Solo Recital Prize and Ensemble Recital Prize. He received a graduate performance endowment to study at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where he earned a Master of Music in Trombone Performance. Mr. Walls has played second trombone with the Harrisburg Symphony and has also substituted with the Maryland and Allentown Symphony Orchestras, the Fulton Opera House Orchestra, and the Harrisburg Opera. He has performed with numerous chamber music groups such as the Lancaster Brass Quintet, PA Academy Faculty Brass Quintet, UpSlide Down Trombone Quartet, Lancaster Trombone Quartet, Moravian Trombone Choir, Keystone Brass Ensemble, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra brass section. He served as interim music director at the Grace Brethren Church in Lititz. He was on the faculty at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music where he taught trombone and euphonium, music theory, and coached the Academy Brass. Currently Mr. Walls teaches Music Technology, Music Theory, and Popular Music in addition to directing the Band Program at Eastern York High School. In addition to performing Mr. Walls also enjoys teaching privately. Andy and his wife, Jen, make their home in Lititz, PA where they are raising two daughters, Emma and Lily.
