Sara Male
Adjunct Assistant Professor, Cello

| Sara Male's cello study began in her native Canada. As a student at the Victoria Conservatory of Music she was awarded the Principal Emeritus Prize and the Camosun College Liberal Arts Award for Excellence. Ms. Male holds an Associate of Arts in Music from Victoria Conservatory of Music. She also received a Bachelor of Music from Rutgers University and a Master of Music from Mannes College of Music. Her major teachers include renowned cellists Bernard Greenhouse, Timothy Eddy, Zara Nelsova ,and James Hunter. Ms. Male was also awarded performance fellowships to study with Janos Starker and Anner Bylsma and members of the Cleveland String Quartet. She is a national class winner of the Canadian Music Competition held annually in Ottawa, Canada. When not touring with the Newstead Trio, Ms. Male teaches and directs the chamber music program at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music.
