Liberales

The Center for Liberal Arts and Society is pleased to present the Spring 2009 issue of our newsletter Liberales. In it you will find information and reports about the Center's recent activity and notices of upcoming programs that we hope will engage your interest and attention. Each event fulfills the Center's mission to provide intellectual opportunities for faculty, students, and staff, as well as our fellow citizens of Lancaster. This most recent issue highlights Franklin & Marshall's Inaugural Symposium for Emerging Scholars. This symposium, which occurred in March, centered on resonance and its pertinence in various academic subjects. Talks, given by visiting scholars, ranged from resonance in Trojan War Stories, and popular music, to resonace in Medicine and Segregation, as well as dialect and speaking. Along with the Inaugural Symposium for Emerging Scholars, the Spring Issue contains an interview with Seth Schulman, author of Undermining Science: Suppression and Distortion in the Bush Administration.
