Kenneth Laudermilch
Adjunct Professor, Trumpet

Dr. Laudermilch is a recently retired professor from the School of Music at West Chester University where he served as the director of the Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds and as professor of Instrumental Music for 38 years. He is the principal trumpet of the Westminster Brass Quintet and a regular sub with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He served as principal trumpet of the Delaware Symphony for 25 years. Currently he is music director the nation's second oldest municipal band, The New Holland Band.
He received a BS from Lebanon Valley College, MM from The New England Conservatory of Music, and DMA from The Catholic University of America. His teachers include Roger Voisin, principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony Orchestra; Gilbert Johnson, principal trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra; Robert Nagel, principal trumpet of the New York Brass Quintet; Gerard Schwarz, co-principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic; Lloyd Geisler, principal trumpet of the National Symphony; and James M. Thurmond, founder of the Navy School of Music.
Dr. Laudermilch is the author of "An Understandable Approach to Musical Expression", Meredith Music/Hall Leonard, 2000; numerous articles in national journals; and served as editor of a new music review column for 30 years for the PMEA News.
