Human Subject and Animal Studies are reviewed by either the Committee on Grants (COG) the Institutional Review Board (IRB), or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
Research Involving Human Subjects:1) Read the Belmont Report.
2) Read the Human Subject Study Guidelines and the Elements of Informed Consent.
3) Read the Human Subject Survey Procedures and the Notes on Process.
4) Complete and sign the Human Subject Study Application
5) Return the completed form to Molly Dellinger, 102B Old Main.
6) COG or IRB will review the proposal and an email notification will be sent to the Principal Investigator/s.
Research Involving Animal Studies:
1) Review the IACUC Guidelines.
2) Complete and sign the IACUC Application Form.
3) Return the completed form to Molly Dellinger.
4) IACUC will review the proposal and an email notification will be sent to the Principal Investigator/s.
Note: All IACUC proposals must be renewed on an annual basis. The Annual Renewal Form is to be used for renewals. For a triannual renewal, a new IACUC Application Form must be resubmitted.Policies & Guidelines for External Grant Applications by Faculty:
Faculty members are encouraged to submit research and/or curriculum development proposals to external funding agencies. Contact Dick Fluck, dick.fluck@fandm.edu, if the funding source is either specific private funding (e.g., Research Corporation, American Chemical Society, Merck, etc.) or public funding sources (e.g., NSF, NIH, NEH, ONR, etc.). Contact Ryan Sauder, ryan.sauder@fandm.edu, for all other private funding sources.
The External Grant Information document provides guidelines for grant applications. The following steps are necessary prior to submitting grant applications:
1) Three weeks prior to the proposal being submitted complete an External Grants Contract Worksheet and attach any relevant documents (e.g., budget statement).
2) Complete and sign the Conflict of Interest Form.
3) For all NSF grant proposals, read and sign the NSF Drug-Free Workplace Certification Form.
4) Review Franklin & Marshall's Patent Policy.
5) Send all documents to Dick Fluck or Molly Dellinger, Office of the Provost.
