Merit Scholarships

All students who apply to Franklin & Marshall are considered for scholarship; therefore, no separate application is required. We do encourage applicants to submit supplemental materials in support of consideration for recognition. Students will be notified of any merit scholarships received upon admission to Franklin & Marshall.

Each year the College seeks to enroll more than 500 students of diverse academic talents, extracurricular involvement, and personal qualities. Every applicant to the College is automatically considered for a scholarship. Comparative standing within a very competitive applicant pool, and not a prescribed GPA or standardized test score, determines who will receive scholarships.

In addition to the scholarships listed above, Franklin & Marshall also recognizes students who are designated National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.  Upon indicating Franklin & Marshall as their first-choice institution with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by the deadline set by the NMSC, Finalists are awarded with a $2,000 college-sponsored scholarship or a corporate-sponsored scholarship in varying amounts.

The financial aid package for Gray Scholars minimizes loan and job expectations over the course of four years.

The Gray Scholarship may be offered in combination with the Marshall Scholarship. Recipients must be United States citizens or permanent residents.
